THE GUESTBOOK (Harlequin / Carina, February 2014)

Willow Cottage is open for business.  But who will come to stay? A young family with a very astute child who notices everything, a lady with her menagerie of animals including a hungry python, the naturists, who shock the local residents, the medium with her spirit guide and a famous actress in hiding are just a few of the many guests that come through the front door.

Annie Butterworth welcomes a colourful array of guests to the seaside holiday cottage and their thoughts and comments written in The Guestbook give a snapshot of their lives.

Then there’s Oliver Black, number one crime writer in the world.  He is seen on the covers of the gossip magazines every week, on the arm of various models or actresses. All his books have been made into huge blockbusters and he has an adoring female fan club.  But to Annie, he will always be Olly Butterworth, the brother of her dead husband, Nick, and the man who Annie shared her first kiss with.

But Annie has her own story to tell.  What was in the will left to her by her dead husband? What happened that night six months after he died that caused Olly to run? And what was in the biscuit tin?

A hilarious peek at the lives of Annie’s guests reveals a story woven with mystery, joy, intrigue, happiness, guilt and love.
